Topography and climate shape culture and form the edifices of man

Vernacular architecture, for that reason, is a kind of pulse that feels the life of place- its temperaments. While moods of nature are non-negotiable and always unforgiving, human edifices are intended to buffer the vagaries of the its natural changes. Even then, I have observed in these mountains how vernacular architecture have to continuously transform to fit and meet those unpredictable temperaments. In this regard, vernacular sensibilities is not fixed. It is continually evolving, Seen in this way, TRADITION is not fixed. So when someone says that we need to get back to the ‘good ole’ traditions, we have reason to sit up, raise our hands and bravely ask, “Says who?”
